Digital photograph captured in 2014 in Toronto. It was the window and interior of this coin laundry that caught my eye. Photographing it at the right distance meant stepping out on the street, which I did warily, owing to traffic. I found my attention divided between composing and taking the image and not dying in the attempt. This slowed me down. And then, miraculously, a door opened and mother with child stepped out onto the sidewalk, perhaps to get some air.
